    • Learn through ongoing professional development during our Summer Professional Development, quarterly planning days, professional literature book clubs, instructional coaching, clinical supervision, and off-site professional development workshops.

    • Have access to technology in every classroom, including laptop computers, document cameras, projectors, chromebooks, and digital cameras.

    • Grade level teams have common prep times as well as an extended planning meeting one day a week.

    • The Executive Leadership Team is supportive, collaborative, and open to ongoing reflection and feedback.

  • Once applications are submitted, they will be reviewed by the hiring team. If a candidate meets our initial requirements, they will be contacted to schedule a visit to our school. The purpose of the visit is to learn more about our school, including the flow of the day, expectations for our staff and students, and our philosophy. The school visit will also be used to determine if the school is a good fit for the candidate. While visiting the school, candidates will have an opportunity to speak with a member of our leadership team. Candidates who meet our selection criteria will be invited to interview for a position.

    During the  interview we will ask questions such as:

    • In your own words, how do you think your philosophy aligns with the mission of Compass Charter School?

    • What is progressive education?

    • What strategies have you used to support students’ racial identity development?

    • What position are you interested in and what makes you qualified for this position?

    • What strengths or unique skills do you think you can bring to the team?

    Candidates who appear to be a match with the school’s mission and vision will be invited to demonstrate their teaching practice through a demo lesson and debrief session.
